This charming beach cottage was built in the 1920's and maintains many of the details of
the period that mark it as a "Craftsman" style home - high ceilings, wide flat moldings,
hardwood floors - and is very similar to many historic homes in Oceanside that were built
during Oceanside's heyday as a summer beach retreat for families from Los Angeles and
San Diego. The picture below is the pier in an earlier era - probably about the time the Cottage
was built!

the beach site from it's original location. When I rehabbed the property 3 years ago the
assessor's records started in the 1950's but referenced an earlier tax number. I am speculating
that this is when it was moved, perhaps to make way for the new I-5 freeway?....
